Achto Tlacatini Montezuma

The bloody secret of the wealth of the Aztec civilization and their Golden City of Eldorado was known only to Montezuma and his successors. It all had its beginning during the Great Conquest, when the Spanish discovered the New World and wanted to seize its riches. The invaders, with their hellish weapons, seemed invincible. Montezuma earnestly prayed to the Gods that they would give them new weapons suitable for fighting the Spanish. All of Eldorado's heritage would be lost if they lost the battle. One day the ruler's prayers were answered and the Gods "descended on the earth." The visitors revealed themselves to Montezuma during the night and offered a certain favorable deal. In exchange for providing bodies for study, they would give the Aztecs a technology called "the core." The visitors ordered Montezuma to use slaves from conquered tribes and captured Spanish to produce obsidian jaguar statues. The "gods" would then install a "core" in them. This would create a fully concrolled murderous weapon. The ruler accepted the offer without hesitation. He decided that his people could not find out who the newcomers really were, so he assumed that the jaguars would be powered by the "Grace of the Gods" and that sacrifices were necessary to gain their favor. This version his people would be able to comprehend. Thanks to the deal with the mysterious newcomers, the Aztecs grew in power. Obsidian jaguars proved very effective against Spanish invaders. After being freed from the Conquistadors, Eldorado began to grow. "The core" no longer propelled not only jaguars, but also other "inventions" for defense and daily use. Cooperation with the "Gods" flourished, and there was no shortage of hands for work and sacrifices. Still, there were adventurers who wanted to appropriate the Wealth of Eldorado. The bloody secret of the sudden development of Aztec civilization remained a secret. Montezuma managed everything with a firm hand and knew well what to sacrifice to gain much more.
